Your Wedding Photographers Past Paints His/Her Present.

Right to the point.... If a wedding photographer has been shooting weddings and only weddings, his/her entire career, then it's very likely that most everything he/she shoots will probably look like "wedding photography".
As photographers, we need a colorful past. And by colorful, I don't mean bad or ugly.....I mean we need to have lots of creative, emotional, and technical experience in our photography and personal past. Without that colorful past, we have little to pull from. I believe this is what makes Christopher Kent Photography special.
I personally come from a history of interior design, independent and feature film, script writing, painting, web and graphic design, etc..... The last art form I picked up was photography. I believe this very colored history helps me, not only in my photography and video work, but also helps me to keep every wedding fresh and different from the last. I have not memorized the "25 most used wedding poses". I prefer to get to know my clients personality and vision before I attempt to capture their big day. I tend to spend a lot more time talking to my clients than most other photographers. I really want to get a sense of their personalities. No, I don't mean multiple personalities, all though some brides may have multiple personalities....just kidding. Multiple personalities meaning the Bride and the Groom. We all know the day is about the Bride and only the bride but I think it helps to see how they interact and express themselves to each other. I find out a lot about the bride from her interaction with her future husband.

What am I really trying to say?

I tend to be the Non-Wedding, wedding photographer.
I don't spend very much time, if any, studying other wedding photographers or wedding photography. I know the traditional poses and I will use them so Mom and Grandmother has something to hang on the wall but I want to capture the DAY...
Not "the day" in a cliche 'tag line' way but a real desire to give back to my clients, the moments and feelings they may have experienced on their wedding day.
Even our wedding video is captured in a much more expressive way.
Who is really going to watch 3 hours of wedding video......do you really want to do that to your relatives? We video your whole day and edit it down to a 30-45 min video that everyone will enjoy watching. A highlight video of the days events and experiences that will make you want to go back to that day and feel it all over again. Not a video that makes you want to keep pushing the fast forward button on your remote.
I am not a wedding photographer/videographer...I am a photographer/cinematographer that shoots weddings. Please feel free to visit our website and contact us for any questions you may have.
